KTU on 30th December together with district heads handed over beekeeping equipment to over 50 women and girls living with disabilities in Luwero sub-county and Butuntumula to conclude the project inspire bee keeping project for women with disabilities between the ages of 15-25.

KA TUTANDIKE CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY.

Ka Tutandike Uganda joins the rest of the world in commemorating the International day for people with Disability. This year, the theme for the day is ‘Sustainable development: the promise of technology’. The focus is ‘practical and concrete action to include disability in all aspects of development as well as further the participation of persons with disability in social life and development on the basis of equality’. We are all called upon to highlight progress and obstacles in implementing disability-sensitive policies, as well as promoting public awareness to break barriers and open doors: for an inclusive society for all.

MONITORING OF THE BEE KEEPING PROJECT IN MASAKA

Together with a bee farming consultant Mr.Okello Bosco, KTU visited homes of the different disabled women and girls in Bukulula and Buwunga sub-counties (Masaka district) who had acquired bee hives on the 3rd of November courtesy of Project Inspire . The purpose of this visit was to ensure that the beneficiaries had mounted their hives in favorable locations for bee colonization as well as to enhance the beneficiaries’ skills in hive endurance and maintenance. We are happy to report that this was successful and are looking forward to the harvest.


 

KTU HANDS OVER ECD ITEMS TO KAME VALLEY MARKET (MUKONO)

KTU on 29th October handed over items to newly setup ECD center in Kame valley market (Mukono) under its Early Childhood Programme with support from the Netherlands Albert Schweiter Foundation (NASF). This was in a bid to make conditions in the market ECD center favorable and up to minimum standards set by the Ministry of Education and sports for the growth and development of children. Transforming lives indeed.
