Participating at the ceremonial launch were Minister of state for Elderly and Disability and Higher Education Hon. Sulaiman Madada, Hon. Alex Ndeezi MP, Uganda's first Deaf Member of Parliament & Executive Director, Uganda National Association of the Deaf, MP Nokrach William (representing PWDs in the Northern region), Mr. Christopher Okecho (Assistant Commissioner for Special Needs Education) and Captain Edward Francis Babu (Chairman of the Board of Governors of Ka Tutandike Uganda). This national Coalition will also serve as a resource that the Government and related ministries could draw upon for implementation of its multi-sectoral approaches aimed at the Deaf community in Uganda.

Ka Tutandike Uganda will be hosting the National Coalition for the Deaf initially for a period of 18 months, after which the responsibility would be transferred to a member organisation on an annual rotational basis.
