PROMOTING DISABILITY-INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT - major event in London

 

On Monday 23 May, Ka-Tutandike Trust UK in partnership with Deaf Child Worldwide and the Royal Commonwealth Society will be hosting a special event in the form of a Panel Discussion on ‘Promoting Disability-inclusive Development'.

 

This event will explore the ways in which disability, and in particular deafness, can be mainstreamed into the development agenda by bringing together representatives from government, civil society and disability-focused organisations from developing countries, particularly those from the African continent.

The session will be chaired by Richard Dowden, Director of the Royal African Society and a Trustee of Ka Tutandike Trust UK

Speakers will include:

 

  • Hon. Alex Ndeezi MP, Uganda's first Deaf Member of Parliament & Executive Director, Uganda National Association of the Deaf
  • Ms. Epha Ephel Ngota, Teacher ,St. Angela School for the Deaf, Kenya & Technical Advisor on Deafness for Deaf Child Worldwide
  • Nasser Ssenyondo, Programme Officer (Deaf) for SignHealth Uganda and Programme Coordinator at Deaf Link Uganda

 

It will be held at the Royal Commonwealth Society which is a 2 minute walk from Trafalgar Square and will be a very interesting and informative evening.
