Katutandike - Let's Get Started - Transforming Lives in Uganda

Ka Tutandike Uganda hosted the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Thematic Group working meeting, organised by The Forum for Education NGOs in Uganda (FENU) on 20August 2013. These meetings are held quarterly, by different ECD actors in Uganda, to share best practices and brainstorm on how in partnership, all ECD actors can play a role in ensuring the implementation of the ECD Policy in Uganda. The team also discussed issues for advocacy to inclusion in the reviewed Education & Sports Sector Review (ESSR) such as a phased government commitment to helping to fund community ECD centres, a separate pre-primary department with appropriate funding, an ECD focal point officer in every District and streamlining of pre-primary teacher education. The coalition pledged to continue following up these issues, for inclusion.
